Kismet Joinery was founded by Matthew Soule
and began as an outgrowth of SouleWork, his
line of studio furniture. Architects, interior
designers, and builders were requesting custom
pieces of furniture, cabinetry, and millwork in order to fit their clients’ unique needs. So in 2024, we gave the custom woodworking side of our business a name of its own.

Our namesake was chosen to both describe the process of rediscovering and reclaiming our
ancestral craftsmanship and as a reminder that magic happens when we are open to the
unfolding of our stories.
