Bill's Natural Wood Products

Bill Dykema has turned wood on a lathe for the last seven years. One person would turn the wood work piece with a rope while the other used a sharp tool to cut shapes in the wood. During the several year of practice he has worked with elm, red elm, walnut, oak, catalpa, maple, pine, boxelder, and fruitwoods. His wood sources are lumberjacks, tree trimmers, and what he finds. All of his wood products have food-grade lacquer put on them so that they are not just pretty but also useful. The fully-cured oils would also be considered food safe. Bill’s niche is leaving the natural edge on a wood product.
